Squash Team Results Summer 2019

Date: October 9th 2019

Suffolk Squash Summer League 2019.
Ipswich Sports Club 1 are Suffolk Squash Division 1 Summer League 2019 Champions.

Over the course of ten matches ISC 1 won seven and lost three - and in doing so accumulated 143 points - to top the table and claim the title for the first time since 2015/16.

Summer League ISC 1 Team captain, Kris Day, had the pick of a strong and enthusiastic core of squad players, including: Elliot Selby, Stuart Lipscombe, Ashley Burton, Tom Ison, Ryan Betts, Adrian Meredith, Will Southworth and Conor Adams, plus guest appearances from Andy Ramsey and Colin Gebhard. The large choice of available players meant ISC 1 were able to field a highly competitive team each week, and this translated into some very good match performances over the course of the season: five of the seven winning matches were emphatic 5-0 wins, and two of those were won by the maximum 18-0 margin.

In contrast, it’s fair to say ISC 2 had a more difficult Summer League season than their ISC 1 counterparts. The Division 2 side won six and lost eight of their fourteen matches, and meant they claimed 154 points – which was enough to to move them into a final league position of fifth place.

With Summer League now complete, we move on to the Winter League. ISC 1 will play in Division 1 and match nights are Thursday’s. ISC 2 will play in Division 2 and match nights are Monday’s. The League begins on 17th October. You can find the fixture list for all matches at suffolksquash.co.uk. All home matches will begin at 7:30pm - so come down and support the players in their attempt to win Division 1 and Division 2 Winter League 2019/20.
