Tennis Foundation ‘PUSH-2-PODIUM’ Wheelchair Tennis Event 2017

Date: August 18th 2017

On Sunday, 1 October 2017, from 12.30pm-3.30pm, Ipswich Sports Club is running a Tennis Foundation ‘PUSH-2-PODIUM’ Event.  This is a Wheelchair Tennis Talent ID session set up following the success of GB players at the 2016/2017 Wimbledon Championships.  Click poster right for the information flyer...
Push-2-Podium is organised by the Tennis Foundation and run across 10 National Centres including Ipswich Sports Club; Andy Yorke, Club General Manager says ‘We are delighted to be hosting this event and look forward to identifying some local Ipswich Talent’.
Steve Joint, Wheelchair Coach at the Club, will be on hand to talk to players, coaches and the press about the expanding Disability Tennis Programme now running at Ipswich Sports Club which also includes ‘iFit Suffolk’ Visually Impaired Tennis Coaching Sessions.
The session will run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and we have a number of local players registered to attend and be put through their paces.  It is hoped that the session will inspire the next generation of wheelchair players and potential future Olympic gold medallists…
All equipment will be provided by the Tennis Foundation and a Tennis Foundation Talent ID Coach will also be at the Club.  Follow-on sessions for those attending include local wheelchair coaching sessions and selection camps.
