Top seed Deon Saffery is one of the highest ranked female Welsh players on the PSA World Tour. After claiming the British Open U17 title in 2004, she secured her first Tour title at the Finnish Open in climactic fashion after a superb five game thriller against Low Wee Wern in 2009. The Welsh woman missed out on retaining her title a year later as she narrowly lost to Lauren Selby in the final but she did capture the British Open U23 title to make amends.

There is a strong Scottish entry, including Georgia Adderley, the talented junior who won this year's Scottish Senior title and Lisa Aitken who has been as high as 38 in the world rankings.
