The Ipswich Sports Club Squash and Racketball Academy has been launched with the aim of providing top quality coaching for all standards of adults and juniors, along with an array of member activities.
The Academy is made up of a number of affable, knowledgable, and dedicated coaches who will work together to deliver a truly diverse programme. It will be headed by Ali Livingstone in a new role as the Director of Squash and Racketball. Ali is ultimately responsible for delivering the coaching programme and member activities, growing participation and making our sport even more accessible.
We are lucky to have some of the best facilities in the region and a coaching team to match – whether you have a 5 year old just picking up a racket for the first time, have decided to give racketball a try or you are a nationally ranked squash player with aspirations to progress to a professional career, we are confident that we will be able to help you achieve everything you want in the game! We are delighted to have Emily Ison as our Head of Development who will be building on our already impressive Junior Programme, and working closely with each and every aspiring junior.
Lee Drew has joined the Academy as the new Elite Coach Consultant. Lee will bring an exceptional wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and will undoubtedly benefit all those actively involved in the Adult and Junior programmes.
In addition to top quality coaching, the Academy has an ethos of encouraging people to try squash and racketball for the first time and helping people to enjoy sport as part of a healthier and active lifestyle.
A full weekly programme of activities is available on the noticeboard and here, or for more information please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. Key activities will include adult team training, an elite squad, a squash fitness session once a week and the introduction of Super Squash Fridays every month.
Lee comes with a remarkable pedigree. He is currently the Head of England Squash Elite Coaching, one of the main SquashTV commentators, and also Referee Director for the PSA. He will focus on working with 'Elite' players at the Sport Club and will help us develop the overall strategy for the section. It's important to note that he is joining us as a consultant, and the vast majority of the 'day to day' coaching will still be conducted by Emily and the coaching team.
